We are sad to report the martyrdom of Havildar Sambur Gurung.
Havildar Sambur Gurung of 33 Rashtriya Rifles (58 Gorkha Training Center) was on duty when he suffered multiple injuries in cease fire violation by Pakistan on July 9. Pakistani troops opened fire and lobbed shells from across the LoC in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on Thursday night.
Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Havildar Sambur Gurung was a brave, motivated and a sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty,” .
The body of the army jawan has been shifted to Nowshera for medico-legal formalities.
This is the sixth killing of soldiers along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri sector in Pakistan shelling. Last month, India lost five soldiers along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri sectors.
